S2C Construction Updates - September 22, 2021

Attendees: Preston Neill, Town of Ridgway Brian Kail, Stryker and Company Mark Clutts, Stryker and Company Leo Perez, Stryker and Company Brian Kail presented the 3-week schedule, pictured below:] On September 28th, the storm detention structure is scheduled to be set, requiring SMPA to shut down power in that immediate area. The structure will sit below power lines and a crane will be setting it in place. Per OSHA, the power needs to be shut off to complete this work. SMPA has already been communicating this system outage to area residents.  Stryker continues to work with the Town to navigate some issues getting the storm water service/system in place, specifically from the corner of Cora St. and Charles St over the east-west alley between Charles St. and Clinton St.   On October 11th, a gas meter and gas line will be installed to the Space to Create property.  Stryker is hoping to have the steel fabrication arrive by the end of October. Attendees: Brian Kail, Stryker & Company Mark Clutts, Stryker & Company Leo Perez, Stryker & Company Diedra Silbert, Town of Ridgway Preston Neill, Town of Ridgway The crew has been making great progress, highlighted by stair tower B going up.  The crew will start pouring all the foundations around stair tower A and then backfilling by the end of the week.  The masons will move from stair tower B to stair tower A late next week.  Stryker is planning to meet with reps from SMPA to discuss the electrical work that needs to be done, as well as the boxes that need to be laid in the right-of-way.  Stryker explained that a series of street and alley closures will be needed for various work in the Town right-of-way. Brian Kail said Stryker will soon begin communicating with area residents about these closures (with Town assistance), including timelines and impacts. Attendees: Brian Kail, Stryker & Company Diedra Silbert, Town of Ridgway Preston Neill, Town of Ridgway The crew has been working on Stair tower B, which is located in the northeast corner, and they are getting ready for laying the underground utilities. Backfill will start going in on Tuesday, August 17th.  The footers have been laid out over at Stair tower A, which is located in the southeast corner. Forming will start on Monday, August 16th. Then, the crew will prepare to place concrete and get the walls erected.  The structures for the storm water system will be installed very soon. A plan will be developed next week to go about installing the water detention/sub-surface manifold, the storm detention box, and other materials. Storm pipes will be installed running east down the alley. Notices will be put out to area residents informing them of the upcoming work of storm water system installment and the need to close the alley. The aim is to provide a two week notice.  A Revocabl

A shipment of rebar is expected to arrive tomorrow. Stryker is hoping to pour foundations on Monday, August 2nd. Excavators are currently working on the northeast corner of the site. Starting on Monday, August 2nd, the structures for the storm water system will be installed. Containment pipes will go in first. The water detention/sub-surface manifold and storm detention box will be put in on the site, with storm pipes running east down the alley to Cora St., then turning north along Cora St. to the intersection of Cora St. and Charles St. The Town is currently working to pothole utilities at that intersection and later this summer or early fall will run a storm pipe across Charles St. so that water can get across. The geopier equipment is being hauled out now.  The building's fire service and water service are going out for redesign.  The excavation work for the foundation has started.
