S2C Construction Updates - September 22, 2021

  • Attendees:
    • Preston Neill, Town of Ridgway
    • Brian Kail, Stryker and Company
    • Mark Clutts, Stryker and Company
    • Leo Perez, Stryker and Company
  • Brian Kail presented the 3-week schedule, pictured below:]
  • On September 28th, the storm detention structure is scheduled to be set, requiring SMPA to shut down power in that immediate area. The structure will sit below power lines and a crane will be setting it in place. Per OSHA, the power needs to be shut off to complete this work. SMPA has already been communicating this system outage to area residents.
  • Stryker continues to work with the Town to navigate some issues getting the storm water service/system in place, specifically from the corner of Cora St. and Charles St over the east-west alley between Charles St. and Clinton St.
  • On October 11th, a gas meter and gas line will be installed to the Space to Create property.
  • Stryker is hoping to have the steel fabrication arrive by the end of October.
  • Some underground plumbing has already gone in so backfill will start going in around the stem walls that have been erected.
  • More block walls will be going up soon on the west side of the building.
  • For a number of safety reasons, Stryker is still interested in exploring a full closure of the half block of Laura St. from Clinton St. to the alley between Clinton St. and Charles St. The Town Council is expected to consider the request on October 13th.
